Bellevue’s new shopping scene

Bellevue has begun to make a name for itself in the shopping world.

New stores and high-end labels are popping up all over town. Whether you have the urge to hit a big name department store (Neiman Marcus has the goods) or you’re more in the mood for one-on-one service in an intimate boutique setting (think La Ree in Old Main), Bellevue has the cream of the crop.

Check out the list of TOP 8 REASONS to stay local when the fashion bug bites.

1.  There’s always Free Parking, enough said.

2. Nordstrom has caught the Twitter bug

Doug McCoy, the Bellevue Square Nordstrom manager, has caught on to the Twitter trend.

If you’re an avid Social Media participant, our very own Bellevue Nordstrom Store Manager, Doug McCoy and his staff Tweet all day about the latest events, trends and sales on a regular basis. Be sure to follow him on Twitter @NordstromBVUE, Sanda, my favorite Personal Stylist @NordBVUESTYLIST, @Chris_at_Nordys from Salon shoes and @NordkidsBVUE from their Kid’s department.

3.  The jeans have it-

Located at The Shops at The Bravern, DNA 2050 has exclusive brands like Jean Shop from New York City’s Meatpacking District. Jean Shop is a one of a kind pair of jeans with its very own birth-date. What Goes Around Comes Around, G-Star, William Rast, Orthodox, and Monarchy are just a few to name of all the exclusive brands found here at the boutique. DNA 2050 has the Eastside’s Premium Selection when it comes to designer denim. There is no other boutique that can challenge their inventory.

4.  Boutique shopping-

The boutique that brought Alexander Wang to the Eastside is putting Bellevue on the fashion map. New designers Vanessa Bruno, Erin Kleinberg and Raquel Allegra are very exclusive to La Ree this Spring 2010 season. La Ree is the only shop (in WA State)for up and coming designers and they’re located on Main Street.

5.  Designer labels-

Designer Consignment boutique Between Friends is very selective with the items they accept to sell in the store. Therefore the gently used designer clothing and accessories for women and children are at its finest. Between Friends is the best place to find almost-new designer bags and jeans at a fraction of the cost. What’s a city like without a consignment store?

6. Celebrity favorites-

Bellevue’s Local Designer Twisted Heart is available at the Derek Andrew store as well as other designer jeans and pieces to compliment the velour suit wardrobe. They are a favorite amongst celebrities.

7.  High-end shopping-

Neiman Marcus has a large selection of designer pieces and in store boutiques like Akris and Marni in addition to handbags by Nancy Gonzalez. Akris just debuted a handbag section for Spring 2010 and I am hoping that they carry it here in Bellevue.

8. Making the move-

Local European boutique David Lawrence is leaving Bellevue Square and is relocating down the street to The Shops At The Bravern. They will soon be conveniently located with neighboring luxury retailers Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Jimmy Choo.
