Water is your body’s principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the average adult should drink 6 to 8 glasses of water….. But what if you couldn’t? What if you didn’t have access to clean water?
What then?
Help raise funding and awareness at Drinks for Drinks, a community event benefiting for Charity: Water, a local nonprofit helping bring water to third world countries.
Kirkland’s own, THE HERDING CATS, will be making a special appearance at a benefit concert called Drinks for Drinks on Friday, August 6 beginning at 8pm in the EastLake Auditorium. Tickets are $20 and includes two drink tickets. A cash bar will also be available for those 21+ with I.D.
All of the proceeds from ticket sales will go straight to bringing fresh drinking water to the Third World. The event is hosted by Eastlake Community Church (www.eastlakecc.com).
Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. Charity: Water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
- Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80 percent of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.
- 90 percent of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are to children under five years old.
- Many of the diseases are preventable.
Charity : Water uses 100 percent of public donations to directly fund sustainable water solutions in areas of greatest need. Just $20 can give one person clean water for 20 years.
