Emerald Isle

A minty gin cocktail – and the perfect green drink for a St. Patrick’s Day party. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, orange bitters add a nice citrus zest.

1 oz gin
1 tsp green crème de menthe
2 dashes bitters

Preparation: Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Nutty Irishman

Need a break from whiskey? Try this crazy-delicious and creamy concoction. Enjoy as either a shot or a drink on the rocks.

1/2 shot Baileys Irish Cream
1/2 shot Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur

Preparation: To drink as a shot, mix half shots of Baileys Irish Cream and Frangelico. Or mix one ounce of each of the liqueurs and enjoy it on the rocks. A St. Patrick’s Day variation adds a shot of green Crème de Menthe for green color and a minty taste.

Irish Flag

Holy potato! It’s the Irish flag. In a glass. This drink is sure to get you in an Irish state of mind.

1/3 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream (Bailey’s)
1/3 oz green crème de menthe
1/3 oz Grand Marnier orange liqueur (some use Butterscotch Schnapps)

Preparation: First, pour the crème de menthe into a glass. Next, slowly pour the Bailey’s Irish cream over the back of a spoon so that it floats on top of the Creme de Menthe. Finally, slowly pour the Grand Marnier over the back of the spoon so that it floats on top of the Bailey’s Irish creme.

Irish Coffee

This is the perfect drink for a casual St. Patrick’s Day parties or as an after dinner beverage.

2 1/2 oz strong, hot coffee
1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
1 tsp brown sugar
1 oz whipping cream (optional)

Preparation: Pour the coffee, Irish whiskey and brown sugar into an Irish coffee glass or mug. Stir well. Float the cream on top.

Irish Car Bomb

You can’t make a list of the best Irish cocktails and forget this one – even if you’d never hear about this one in the homeland.

3/4 pint Guinness Stout
1/2 shot Irish Creme
1/2 shot Jameson Irish whiskey

Preparation: Fill a shot glass with the Irish creme and Jameson, drop it into the Guinness

Green beer

This is the recipe for those lacking inspiration – and looking for a quick fix. It’s St. Patrick’s Day. You’re drinking a beer. Just add a dash of color. Don’t worry, we don’t judge; this is our favorite too!

1 12oz. Beer (lighter beers display the green better)
1 drop green food coloring

Preparation: Add color and go. If you choose to go with a darker variety, the beer will have a nice green head atop the normally dark body.
