The Mirrorball trophies were sparkling Saturday, March 2 as local dancers took to the floor to support Plymouth Housing Group, which provides safe, decent and affordable housing for homeless and low income families.

With 500 people watching, the event raised more than $480,000 for the organization.

Kudos to Hallie Kuperman and the Century Ballroom for helping arrange this annual event, which paired 12 contestants with a professional dancer in the competition.

Eastsider Stacy Lill co-chaired the fundraiser with Carese Busby. The evening’s emcee was Patti Payne.

Other Eastsiders doing their part included past contestants Nancy Pellegrino and Dean Jones taking part in the dance exhibition; and Joyce Taylor, KING5 news anchor, serving as one of the celebrity judges.

Other judges included Karen Bryant, Seattle Storm; Gordon Prouty, Puget Sound Business Journal; and Simon Woods, Seattle Symphony.

The winners of the Mirrorball Trophies were:

  • Cyber Choice Award: John Teutsch, Teutsch Partners, with his Cha Cha partner Alison Cockrill.
  • Judges’ Choice Award: Patti Savoy, community volunteer, with her Lindy Hop partner Mark Kihara.
  • People’s Choice Award: Connie Blumenthal, Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, with her Salsa partner Marcelo Garces.
